St Augustine Haunted Pub Crawl Tours

Glass of beer on brown wood counter in pub with round white reflections of lights aboveSt Augustine is not only the oldest continuously inhabited city in the United States, it claims to be one of the most haunted, right after New Orleans and Savannah. Casa de Solana Bed and Breakfast is said to be one of the city’s haunted inns, with spirits who watch over its guests – friendly of course! Reports include sightings of a kind lady dressed in white, a Spanish Dragoon, and a 19th century solider who defended the home from attack and continues to watch over the entrance and courtyard.

There are many guided tours that highlight this other worldly side of Saint Augustine. You can choose from walking tours, riding tours, ghost hunting tours, pub tours, or a trolley tour. A Haunted Pub Crawl is an entertaining way to sample some of St. Augustine’s favorite bars and taverns while you hear tales and perhaps encounter some of the spirits who seem to enjoy spirits as well. Several different tours are offered – typically they require reservations and are limited to adults age 21 or older (proof of age required). Most last 2.5 – 3 hours and include about four stops at popular pubs that local residents like to frequent. Some include wine or beer at multiple stops, while others offer a combination of discounts together with a welcome beverage. Please visit the individual websites for more detailed information including departure locations, to check tour availability, and to make reservations online if desired.

Tasting Tours offers a Ghost & Haunted Pub Crawl – Wine or Beer Tour with Haunted Tales on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:30 pm. This 2.5 hour walking tour includes historical and supernatural tales of haunted places, together with stops at four wine/beer tasting venues which locals frequent. The cost of the wine and/or beer at all four pubs is included in the package cost of $49 per person. Reservations are required and there is a 48 hour cancellation policy.

St. Augustine Historic Tours offers Spirits with Spirits – A Paranormal Pub Crawl on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00 pm. On this 2.5 – 3 hour walking tour your guide, a local paranormal expert, will tell you about the history of each haunted pub and tavern, what paranormal investigations have found, and the ghostly encounters that sometimes happened on tours. This tour adds a twist by providing paranormal investigative equipment you can learn to use as you wander the old streets to reach the different drinking haunts. The tour stops at four pubs and includes one domestic draft or house wine plus discounts for drinks during the rest of the tour. The cost is $20.00 per person, reservations are required, and tickets are not refundable (tickets may be rescheduled for another time and are transferable).

GhoSt Augustine offers The Original Haunted Pub Tour daily at 8:30 pm. There are additional departure times on Fridays and Saturdays. The oldest of the pub crawls (begun in 2002), the 2.5 – 3 hour tour visits three or four haunted taverns. The guide spins “intoxicating tales” of St. Augustine’s haunted and general history on this “adventure into the world of spirits (both kinds!)” The guide has a K2 EMF ghost meter to check for anomalies in each pub, and guests have the opportunity to get a drink at each stop on the tour. The pub crawl includes an optional 7:30 pm pre-tour visit inside a famously haunted building, a one-of-a-kind souvenir, and a discount coupon at Beerhammer’s Beer Gear. The cost is $20 per person and reservations are required.

GhoSt Augustine also offers the option of a Pub Hearse Ride if you prefer to ride from pub to pub in an antique haunted hearse and investigate for ghosts with a K2 EMF meter yourself. This Friday and Saturday tour includes three haunted pubs plus other haunted places in St. Augustine including Castillo de San Marcos. You may your own alcoholic beverage to drink inside the hearse. The cost is $65 per person and reservations are required.
City Walks partners with Ghost Tours of St. Augustine for the Creepy Crawl Haunted Pub Tour & Paranormal Investigation, offered Wednesdays through Saturdays. On this tour, your guide not only describes different haunted places ghosts and legends, but teaches you how to use an EMF meter and professional ghost-hunting equipment. The $25 tour cost includes use of this equipment, a first drink, and discounts and drink specials at each of the haunted pubs. Reservations are required, and tickets are not refundable (tickets may be rescheduled for another time and are transferable).
Tour companies sometimes offer special discounts or promotions and have made special arrangements with inns, so be sure to check with our staff at Casa de Solana about any tour you plan to take during your St. Augustine visit. Perhaps spirits reside at Casa de Solana – we make no claims –but if you’re hoping you might encounter one, check the availability of the Montejurra Room or the British Suite
