San Sebastian Winery offers complimentary tours and wine tastings, plus The Cellar Upstairs Wine and Jazz & Blues Bar featuring live music, light appetizers, wine, and a spectacular view of St. Augustine, Florida. The Winery and Bar are less than a 15 minute walk down King Street from the Casa de Solana Bed and Breakfast.
San Sebastian is one of Florida’s premium wineries, winning over 740 awards since its founding in 1996. It is a leader in producing sparkling and dessert Muscadine wines from varieties including the bronze Carlos, Welder and red Noble grapes. It also produces Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah and blends, plus Cream Sherry and Port.
Free Winery Tour and Wine Tasting
Free Winery Tour and Wine TastingSan Sebastian offers its complimentary Winery Tours and Tasting daily. The Tour includes a brief movie, followed by a walking tour through the winery’s production facility to learn all about the art of winemaking. The 45 minute tour ends with a wine tasting in the Barrel Room featuring different San Sebastian Wines. Tours are offered about every 20-25 minutes on Mondays through Saturdays from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm, and on Sundays from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm (except for major holidays). Children are welcome on the tour; wine tasting is limited to adults of 21+ years of age with a valid I.D. The Winery’s retail store is open until 6:00 pm.
The Cellar Upstairs Wine, Jazz & Blues Bar
After sampling the wines on the tour, why not enjoy a glass of your favorite wine (or a domestic or imported beer) and listen to some live music at their Wine and Jazz & Blues Bar? Seating is available inside as well as on the open-air deck overlooking the city. The Bar is open Thursdays through Sundays; musical choices include an eclectic mix of Jazz, R&B, Blues, Soul, and Rock. Their website includes the schedule of performers by month. The band schedule for July, 2019, includes 17 different performers! Lighter fare on the menu includes appetizers such as tacos, a bistro cheese board, hummus, oven roasted wings, and beef carpaccio, plus salads and sandwiches. The Cellar Upstairs is open Thursdays and Sundays from 11:30 am – 6:00 pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 11:30 am – 11:00 pm. There is no cover charge.
