The 11 Aviles Street Artists and Craftsmen Guide, in the historic Hamblen-Holiday Building, displays the works of 50 artisans in its first floor Galleries and in artist loft studios on the upper floors. You’ll find their works in the Professional Artists of St. Augustine Gallery, the Georgia Nick Gallery, and the Aviles Gallery. Many of the award-winning artists represented in these galleries have exhibited nationally and internationally. These artists work in media ranging from acrylics, oils, and water colors to collage, mixed media, prints, photography, textiles, and glass. There are sculptors, potters, silver and goldsmiths, leather craftsmen, wood turners and knifemakers represented as well.

Plum Contemporary Gallery, at 10 Aviles Street, displays more contemporary works created by 36 different artists in various media. In addition to painters who work in acrylics and oils, there are photographers, graphic artists and those who work in batik, encaustic and mixed media. The several sculptors work in bronze, aluminum, ceramic, and mixed media.

In addition to the galleries and studios on Aviles Street, you’ll find several on Charlotte Street and on St. George Street, plus a dozen or more on King Street.

First Friday Art Walks

Many of the art galleries throughout St. Augustine invite visitors to enjoy hors d’oeuvres, wine, and live entertainment during the First Friday Art Walk each month. Many galleries in the historic art district participate, as do ones on Anastasia Island and St. Augustine Beach.
